Kashmira's Crochet Flower

Recently, I visited Kashmira's blog, Sadafulee and I complimented her on the lovely crocheted flower focal she had made for her Bead Soup partner. Kashmira then graciously and generously offered to send me one to play with. She said she'd be interested to see what I would create with it. Well, how could I refuse an offer like that! And, so here is the flower, in all it's beautiful glory. I have a few ideas about what I may do with it. Maybe, a beaded necklace with the flower off to one side in an asymmetrical design or possibly a leather cuff bracelet with the crocheted focal in the center. I will share my design when I come up with something, but in the meantime I'd love to hear your thoughts...

What would you do? It would be really fun to hear your design ideas. Please share!

  2. What about backing it with stiffened cut-out leaves or leaf shapes from lace or vintage doilies, then ruffling some tule on top of that, then adding some dainty beaded flower center to the flower, then the flower put on top of the tule? Nice brooche or pendant or focal point for a ribbon wrap bracelet?

  3. It would make an adorable headband or hat focal for Nora. That's what I would do.. :)

  4. I think the leather cuff would be really cool. The contrast of the leather with the intricate flower would make an interesting piece. I just loved this flower when I saw it on your of your blogs before. Awesome!

  5. Oh yayy! My flower :)

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the leather cuff idea. Not so sure of the asymmetrical off-to-the side necklace, sounds a bit "seen-that-before" thing.

Love Mixikim's idea too...put a small something on the center of the flower, maybe something steam-punky to make this totally girly flower a bit edgy?
