Judith B. Glende was a phenomenal jewelry designer and she befriended many in the beading blog community. Since Judy touched many of our lives in some way, Moobie Grace Designs is hosting a blog hop tribute in memory of her. I was first introduced to Judy through a blog-hosted, handmade earring exchange two years ago. She was my exchange partner. Ever since then, I've been captivated by her design work. We met over earrings, so I thought I'd make another pair in honor of her now. Judy loved to incorporate butterflies and other winged creatures in her jewelry designs. Inspired by the "Flap Your Wings" theme, I created these earrings:
Butterfly Bohemian Earrings

ReplyDeleteHow lovely to make a pair of earrings in tribute to Judy when you first met her through an earring exchange. These are so bright and happy and so very fitting of our memory of Judy.
ReplyDeleteThese are so fun! and love how you used cord with the hoops - that is fantastic. How did you find the time this week with Beadfest too!
ReplyDeleteSuch whimsical, and summery earrings!! I'd wear them in a minute! I love that you used your first meeting with Judy as an inspiration...so touching! Thank you!

ReplyDeletePerfect! Have fun at bead fest
ReplyDeleteBright! Springy! Pretty!
ReplyDeleteSO pretty! I know that Judy is smiling on us. I wish that I could have participated, but the time was not right for me. However, I am working on my bangle stacks for next week and I am going to include some etchings that I bought from Judy. I will always remember her as being such a kind and generous soul with a talent to bring out the best in all that she touched. Enjoy the day. Erin
