I created all 5 of the bracelets shown here. The two on each end are adjustable slide knot bracelets. I made them with waxed cotton cord, cornerless metal cubes and ceramic rounds by artist Elaine Ray. You can find my FREE TUTORIAL on how to make them on the Art Bead Scene blog right here.
The three bracelets in the middle, are made with my favorite stringing material, Irish waxed linen cord and metal cornerless cubes in copper, silver and brass...these beads are other favorite! I used colorful waxed linen cord in purple, orange and fuchsia. The purple and orange linen bracelets were both created using a macrame square knot. The fuchsia bracelet is simply braided.
I love the colorful combination in my bracelet ensemble. I'm seeing lots of bright, bold colors for clothes this Spring/Summer season. I love putting outfits together with my jewelry and since the bracelet trend is all about fashion and style, I thought I'd put together something fun to wear with my bracelets. I'm all set for Summer!

ReplyDeleteHi again. I'm wondering if you know of a good online source for 1.5 mm leather cord. I ordered some indian cord and it was not strong at all and I have been told I should order Greek cord?? I new to working with leather cord so any tips you have would be greatly appreciated! thank you so much, Michele
ReplyDeleteHi Michele,
DeleteYes, Greek leather cord is some of the best quality I have used and it's what I usually recommend to people. It's been a bit hard to find in the past, but I think more stores are starting to carry it, now. You can order it online at Ornamentea.com. Great online shop for all kinds of things!
Hi Erin,
DeleteI revisited this post today to get another look at your bracelets and see I never thanked you for answering my Q's! Oh, how rude of me, sorry about that. Thank you very much for your help. I did check on Ornamenta for the cord and yes, I too, find that Greek cord is very nice to work with. Thanks again and I am looking forward to getting your new book! Michele
What an interesting mix of colors and then I scroll down and see why! It's so cool how you took adornment and matched it with clothing :) xoxo Beth
